Big business and start-ups discussed the mechanisms of interaction in Skolkovo
On the 21st of March a round table named ‘Technology start-ups and large corporations: the practice of interaction on the example of the transport industry’, organized by Technopark ‘Skolkovo’ and Director of Science and Innovation Club (iR & Dclub) took place in the Skolkovo Innovation Centre (Skolkovo near Moscow, Russia). Participants included residents of Skolkovo Innovation Fund, the Club Directors for Science and Innovation, the foreign corporation as EADS and Bosh, ‘WEB Innovation’ Fund, Innovation Development Center of Moscow, investors and market experts. During the round-table discussion DATADVANCE, TEEMP and Telum — Skolkovo IC residents — presented their companies and products.
The first of the invited companies, participating in the project ‘Skolkovo’, was DATADVANCE and Sergey Morozov, CTO of the company, who presented MACROS, designed to automate the engineering calculations, predictive modeling and optimization. DATADVANCE is an example of ‘working innovation’. MACROS software package is being implemented and used in big companies such as AIRBUS, EUROCOPTER, ASTRIUM and IHI Corporation. Some Russian companies have already expressed interest in DATADVANCE solutions -- currently running pilot projects at KAMAZ, AvtoVAZ, The Ural Turbine Works, and some other plants. In most of the major state-owned companies, in spite of the interest, the progress is extremely slow due to the high level of bureaucracy and lack of motivation, sorry to say.
Participants included ‘Renova’ Director of Development of high-tech assets, Chairman of Technopark 'Skolkovo' Mikhail Lifshits, ‘Russian Technologies’ corp. Head of innovation block Vadim Strenalyuk, ’WEB-Innovations’ Venture Fund Director of Innovation Anna Nenakhova, top managers of European aircraft and defense group EADS and German concern Bosch — the world's largest manufacturer of automotive equipment, as well as of the ‘E4’ and others known in the innovation sector managers.
Robert Foster, EADS Chief Technical Officer, said that the largest Airbus A380 titanium frame of the chassis was made in Russia, and that in our country has already successfully launched the production of composite flaps for European aircraft, and our DATADVANCE modelled and optimized design and the key elements of Airbus and even the skin of Formula One cars.
Extend appreciation to Skolkovo Innovation Centre for the great opportunity to speak to such an audience!
